The Market

By JF | November 24, 2007

I took this photo ages ago, I thought it would be great to reference for inspiration on the fruit market in Metro-Burbs. When I lived on the Upper West Side, this is where I got my…everything. It has since closed down, along w/ the pizza place next door that sold HUGE slices ( I mean it, like double the size) and a geat bagel place. All gone.

I was wrong…

By JF | November 17, 2007

…in my last post, I wrote:

I feel strongly that you should have your ideas down pat. You should really know why you have everything the way you do because the first thing someone is going to do is question it – hopefully your answers are the right ones.

well, the part about the answers being the right ones is not what I meant at all. There are no right answers, seriously. You, as the creator, are and will always come from a differet perspective then the one on the other side of the table. He/She is thinking of many things –

How much will this cost? Who is this person across from me? Can they pull it off? Will he/she be bought out? Who would want to team up to make this? Will anyone? Can these characters sell products? Is there something like this already out there? Is the writing steller?

While your thoughts are more about the development of the story, the importance of the characters, the way the show is presented (animation, live action, etc). So just be able to explain WHY you answer the question the way you do.

latest on my tv show

By JF | November 9, 2007

I’ve been posting a lot of random quotes and videos that tickle my fancy but haven’t really wrote about the “show” of late.
I had a meeting on Monday where I brought my goodies including the mystery box that I posted an image of recently.
What an experience –
I couldn’t help but think that it had to be similar to what actor’s do every single day, probably many times a day – on their way to their waiting tables. Of course, I didn’t have to worry if I had the look for the part – I did have to worry if my goodies did.
I don’t want to get into too many specifics about the meeting but I will say that I feel strongly that you should have your ideas down pat. You should really know why you have everything the way you do because the first thing someone is going to do is question it – hopefully your answers are the right ones.
